Dr. Laine Tiedeman, DVM

For Dr. Laine Tiedeman, becoming a veterinarian was the perfect blend of childhood passions, from caring for animals to solving medical puzzles.

“I believe pets bring joy, comfort, and meaning to our lives. My goal is to preserve that bond by helping them live long, healthy lives—and making sure clients feel informed and supported every step of the way.”

Dr. Tiedeman was born and raised on the north side of San Antonio and is proud to be practicing in the community she grew up in. She attended Texas A&M University for both her undergraduate studies and veterinary school, earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree before returning home to begin her career.

She spent her first five years in a busy walk-in urgent care setting, where she developed a strong interest in internal medicine, honed her diagnostic skills, and treated a wide range of illnesses. While she once considered specializing, Dr. Tiedeman ultimately chose to focus on general practice, where she could build close relationships with clients and work with them to find practical solutions for their pets’ health.

She is particularly passionate about preventing serious but avoidable diseases such as Parvovirus, Leptospirosis, and Heartworm disease. She also has a growing interest in animal behavior, having worked with a service dog organization during her undergraduate years where she trained and conditioned dogs in basic obedience and public readiness.

Dr. Tiedeman is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Veterinary Medical Association of Bexar County.

She lives with her husband, John, their two Labradors—Paisley and Gingham (“Hammie”)—and two rescue cats, Ignacio and Heidi. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, writing, knitting, tending to her indoor plant collection, and running agility courses with Hammie.
